Let's see, what Moneyball : Bid Maestro 2.0 is all about?

This event gives you the thrills of a live auction! An event not only for the cricket enthusiasts but also for those who analyze the game to the limits. Put yourself in the shoes of a bidder to build the dream team that you always wanted in these racy hours of nerves, strategy, game theory and gut. If you love cricket, if you have followed IPL and if you can mix a little of common sense with passion into your bidding strategy, this event is a must for you. Not only does this event test your analytical skills in bidding for the best player for the best price but also your negotiation skills in getting players for the best price. The Best Bargain is waiting for you. Participants can register in the event as a team of 2 - 3 members.

The event will consist of two rounds (both the rounds are On-Campus) explained as follows:

Round 1: Bid Maestro

All the participating teams will be provided with a fixed amount of virtual purse, which the teams are supposed to buy the players. Each player will be given batting and bowling points on which the teams have to consider to make a balanced team. The bidding for the player will start with the base price and participants are supposed to make a team that is balanced in both batting and bowling. Once the participants are ready with their teams, the virtual tournament will start.

Rules for Round 1:

  • Team size should be 2 - 3 members.

  • One participant can be a part of only one team.

  • Any number of teams can participate from a college.

  • Rules and regulation sheets will be provided to all the teams 2 hours prior to the event.

  • Teams will have 15 mins to ask any doubts.

  • Participating teams can appoint one Manager among themselves who will bid for the players and be considered for the key decisions in the later stage.

Round 2: ‘High’ball It

Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve, you only get what you negotiate. After the virtual tournament, the top 8 teams will be selected for the next round. In this round, the top 8 teams will again participate in the virtual tournament, and the top 4 teams will be selected. Now, the bottom 4 teams will also have something to win. They can sell their best player and make money. The team which makes the maximum amount will win the title Best Negotiator. The new top 4 teams which bought the players will again be participating in the virtual tournament and top team wins.

Rules for Round 2:

  • No change in the participant teams (change/ exchange of participants) will be entertained.

  • The decision made by the manager (selected by the participant teams) will be considered final.

  • The teams that are not abiding by the rules will be disqualified.

Judging Criteria

The participating teams will be part of the virtual tournament, which will decide the team standings in the scheduled fixtures. The winner of the contest will be decided on the final standing which will be generated on considering the best team with best and balanced batting and bowling unit. The Best Negotiator title will be awarded to the team with the maximum amount in the purse during the negotiation round.
